Jim Mein, AM

Jim Mein AM was admitted to the Order of Australia on Australia Day 2010 for his service to the Uniting Church in Australia through a range of roles; to the promotion of inter-faith dialogue; to education; and to the community. 

Jim’s professional background is in accountancy and includes auditing public and proprietary companies and other organisations, taxation, management consulting, local government auditing and consulting, property heritage and interpretation, overseas aid, community services, aged care, non-government schools, governance, insurance & superannuation. His professional memberships include CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.          

During his time as Moderator of the Uniting Church in Australia NSW Synod, one of the interfaith initiatives in which Jim was involved was the official launch of the website ‘Interfaith Sydney’. This website was the outcome of ongoing discussion and collaboration between Muslims involved with the Affinity Intercultural Foundation and representatives from the Catholic, Anglican and Uniting Churches, in NSW.
