Naidoc 2013 001Colour adjustedMedia Release Blue Care

As you are aware, Blue Care has been managing Frontier Services’ Aged Care facilities since the beginning of December 2013.

On Saturday March 22, 2014 the Uniting Church in Australia Assembly Standing Committee passed a resolution to transfer the operation of the residential and community aged care services in the Northern Territory to UnitingCare Queensland’s Blue Care, and in the Kimberley region of West Australia to Juniper (the Uniting Church aged care provider in WA).

The transfer is subject to approval by the Australian Government’s Department of Social Services and will take place from July 1, 2014.

We wish to reassure clients, families and staff that Blue Care is committed to continuing to provide these valuable and critical services to communities in the regional and remote areas of the Northern Territory. Likewise, Juniper, which is UnitingCare Western Australia, has the same commitment to the Kimberley Aged Care Services. The new ownership arrangements are seen as an important step in ensuring the future long term sustainability of provision of
Aged Care services to the people of Northern Australia.

Over the coming months the work to transition the services smoothly to the new operators will be undertaken and we will continue to liaise and communicate with you throughout this period.
