Thargomindah had been through plenty of floods before, but not like this. When the warnings came late on a Sunday night, residents grabbed what they could, and fled to the town’s emergency meeting point on the top of a hill.
They thought they’d be home the next day. But the waters rose faster and higher than anyone could have predicted.
It can take years to recover after such a devastating disaster. But your support makes it possible for Bush Chaplains and Outback Links volunteers to continue showing up for communities like Thargomindah, again and again, for as long as they need.
