Leaving a Gift in your Will
Leaving a Gift in your Will
Making a Will is one of the most important decisions you can make in your life. It ensures your wishes are carried out and the values you hold most dear continue to live on through the work of others, such as the amazing work of our Bush Chaplains and Outback Links volunteers.
Many generous people choose to give to Frontier Services through a Gift in their Will. It’s a powerful way to ensure your legacy lives on for years to come, and people in the bush never have to struggle alone.
We’ve partnered with Gathered Here, Australia’s most-trusted end-of-life services site, to offer our supporters a free online will.
In just 10 minutes, you can make important preparations for your family and pledge a meaningful gift to a cause you care about.
One of the most impactful ways you can support Frontier Services is by pledging a gift in your will. It won’t cost anything during your lifetime, but it will help ensure Frontier Services can continue standing with people in the bush long into the future.
Rev John Flynn’s legacy. And yours.
Plenty has changed in rural and remote Australia since the beginning of the 20th century, but some things remain the same.
When Rev John Flynn envisioned a “mantle of safety” to enrich and protect our outback communities, he was responding to an overwhelming need he witnessed firsthand.
Where there are people in the bush struggling with hardship and isolation, our network of Bush Chaplains and Outback Links volunteers – through your legacy – will be this mantle of safety.
How Frontier Services is funded
We do not receive direct government funding and rely solely on the funds we raise through our various fundraising appeals and campaigns.
One vital source of funding are bequests or gifts in Wills. Such kind gifts allow us to look into the future and create programs that will continue the work the Rev John Flynn began 110 years ago.
The John Flynn Foundation
We are also funded by The John Flynn Foundation, our endowment fund. Gifts to The John Flynn Foundation helps build a significant reserve which provides a steady and long-term income stream to support our Bush Chaplain program.
Deciding what you wish to leave
Please discuss these options with your family and your solicitor to work out what is best for you. Here are some common examples of bequests:
Pecuniary gift
A fixed sum of money
Specific gift
Gifts of particular articles such as property, houses, land, cars, furniture, jewellery, shares, paintings etc
Residual gift
The most effective way to leave a bequest and are made up of the remainder of your estate after the Specific Bequests have been distributed.
Percentage gift
Leave a percentage or proportion of your estate to ensure that your loved ones and the causes you care are about are looked after in accordance with your wishes.
We would most appreciate a percentage gift or a residual gift.
