It was a very special birthday outing for the clients at Frontier Services Kununurra Community Care and Respite Centre who travelled to Wuggubun Community for a picnic on Monday.

Eleven clients went to Wuggubun for the day, enjoying a picnic lunch and some time out of town. Three of these clients celebrated their birthday.

Manager of the Centre Flo Cloud said the outing brightened the clients’ day.

“It was an opportunity for the clients to get out and do something they enjoy in the bush,” said Ms Cloud.

Frontier Services Kununurra Community Care and Respite Centre provides day-time care at the centre for up to 20 clients who are elderly or who have a disability. The service provides a social outing for the clients and gives their carers a break. The clients take part in social activities such as outings to the park, fishing, craft activities, and attending cultural and community events.
