This Easter there will be many journeys made – near and far from home, physical as well as spiritual.

Broken Hill Patrol Minister Jorge Rebolledo recently crossed paths with Outback Links volunteer Don McKay (pictured) as they both went about their own Easter journeys.

Don has volunteered to lend a hand to a family in the Broken Hill region for a couple of weeks, which includes the Easter weekend. He will provide some extra help around the property. One of his jobs will be erecting a car port.

When asked if the Easter Bunny knew where he would be, Don replied that he hadn’t really considered it, but that he would have to find some chocolate from somewhere!

Meanwhile, Jorge has been out and about, travelling in his plane across the region supporting families affected by the recent flooding, visiting school children and celebrating important community events.

Over Easter he will conduct a Good Friday service in Menindee, preside over a Thanksgiving service for two children and attend a gymkhana in Packsaddle, 200km north of Broken Hill.

In the past week, he was a judge for the Pooncarie Public School’s version of MasterChef, attended the Harmony Day events in Menindee and has visited families that were impacted by the recent floods.

Jorge is one of 22 Frontier Services Patrol Ministers spread across the most isolated parts of Australia who will be supporting families and communities over Easter.
