The excitement was palpable as the crowd built to watch the finals of the John Flynn Memorial Australia, NZ, USA Woman’s Test Series in Adelaide today.

It has been a tight match so far, with NZ winning the first test, the USA the second and all hopes were pinned on the Australian team for the finals and they came through with a cut to spare.

Captain Amanda Beames accepted the John Flynn trophy, a Flynn photograph of women at a tree felling in Buchan in the early 1900s, from National Director Rosemary Young.

The international teams were fascinated to hear stories about Frontier Services and the work which the organisation does throughout remote Australia.

Monday also saw the first two rounds of the Junior Invitation Round Robin, the final for which will be held on Saturday, the last day of the Show.

David Foster, the announcer and commentator in 2012, has been heavily promoting Frontier Services, the Centenary and the importance of the inclusion of young people in team sports through these events.

In making the presentation to the winners of today’s events Rosemary remarked on the fact that so many of those who first participated in Frontier Services sponsored events as juniors are now in the forefront of their sport. Frontier Services is proud to be associated with the events that make their participation possible.
