Port Macquarie Uniting Church A Night to Remember
The ladies and gents from Port Macquarie Uniting Church turned out in their finest at a Soirée specially organised to boost funds for the soon to be relaunched Outback Links program.
Organisers Geoff and Roz Bond say the inspiration behind “A Night to Remember” was to celebrate and remember the extraordinary time volunteers have spent with families in rural and remote Australia through the Outback Links program.
And with Outback Links ready to re-commence operations in early July, it was an opportunity to reflect on and to embrace Rev John Flynn’s vision, yet again.
The evening kicked off at the Port Macquarie Uniting Church with canapés and punch served by Year 10 hospitality students from St Columba Anglican School.
A delightful vocalist and pianist set the scene for a truly wonderful night of entertainment. Local artists and the Sing Australia Choir continued the entertainment for the guests.
Supper followed a presentation about the Outback Links program and how it has delivered vital volunteer support to families doing it tough in the bush.
Frontier Services was delighted to receive a cheque for $2300 raised from the event, including a donation of $500 from the Port Macquarie West Rotary Club.
Every bit of support we receive helps us in our mission to make Outback Links a sustainable program into the future.
Organisers were so thrilled with the night they are planning ANOTHER NIGHT TO REMEMBER for 2015.
Stay tuned for more news about the re-launch of Outback Links.
