Blessing on Your Works

Yurora-Rronang-and-Sally-GarrawurraRev Jeffery Rronang Garrawurra, Chairman of the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress, and his wife, Sally, stopped in at the Frontier Services’ stall at Yurora NCYA Festival to offer their blessings to all Frontier Services’ staff for the coming year.

“Yes, we know Frontier Services well!” declared Rev Jeff. “God bless your works! One of my good friend’s is Lindsay Parkhill, your Patrol Minister in West Arnhem and Jabiru. ”

He and Sally had travelled to Sydney from the Northern Territory with their grandaughters Shantel and Pricila. The youth festival was a chance to share faith stories, knowledge and inspiration.

Rev Jeffery Rronang Garrawurra is based in Darwin in his key role with the UAICC, but the couple’s own country is Elcho Island off the coast of Arnhem land and their mother tongue is Liyakawummirr.

They were delighted that “Yurora” the name adopted for the young Christian festival means “passionate” in the language of the Burrumattagal peoples of the Dharug nation of North Paramatta where the festival is being staged.
