Debbie Richardsson smallBeing the Co-Coordinator of Outback Links is a unique position. Not only do you need the ability to get along with people from all walks of life and the skills to organise many different groups of people simultaneously, you also have to know how to talk someone though a sticky situation that is potentially happening hundreds of kilometres away from the nearest town, while managing the administration which goes with it.

When Debbie Richardson came along, Outback Links knew they had found the right person for the job. Campus Manager at the Charleville and Roma Campus’ of Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE for close to 19 years, Debbie is used to organising people. She also has a lot of experience at multi-tasking as she operates a grazing property 10km outside of Charleville where she spends her weekends mustering or fencing.

“I know what it’s like to be stuck out in the bush when the nearest neighbor is 30km away”, said Debbie.

“I’m excited about taking on the new job. I think my skills and qualifications will assist me in this position and because I am familiar with properties and I’ve taught my own kids through the School of Distance Education, it will help me to know some of the problems and difficulties remote people face.”

We think so too. Welcome Debbie and all the best in your role.
