Disaster recovery support
Rev Dr Stephen Robinson stands out and provides leadership in disaster recovery support. Over the past decade, he has guided Frontier Services, ensuring the organisation’s readiness to handle disasters and aid in long-term recovery efforts.
In his role as the National Disaster Recovery Officer for the Uniting Church, Rev Dr Stephen Robinson collaborates closely with our Bush Chaplains. This means that they are well-equipped for disaster response and recovery.
He emphasises the importance of sustaining support for rural and remote communities. “Frontier Services plays a crucial role in ensuring people in rural and remote parts of the country receive the support they need for the long term.”
Following events like the Black Summer bushfires and Cyclone Seroja, Rev Dr Stephen Robinson played a key role in coordinating our response efforts. Through his leadership affected communities were able to receive ongoing diaster recovery support. “Bush Chaplains embedded in the communities make a significant difference. Additionally, Outback Links volunteers play a vital role in providing practical support and companionship.”
Rev Dr Stephen Robinson stresses the importance of human connection in disaster recovery. “Face-to-face support driven by Frontier Services makes a remarkable difference, especially when people feel isolated or disconnected from government assistance.”
